Malta consists of a small group of islands: Malta, Gozo, Comino, Cominetto, and Filfla, located in the Mediterranean Sea south of Sicily. Gozo, the most northerly island of the Maltese archipelago, is second in size to Malta.

With a population of only 25,000 people, Gozo has a character quite distinct from Malta's.

Gozo

The countryside is greener and more spectacular, with flat-topped hills characterizing the landscape, while the coast has rugged cliffs, penetrated by steep valleys and beautiful bays. The tourist who decides to visit the island will profit because he will find himself in a little paradise transported back in history, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, transposed into a world of peace and serenity and cleanliness.

The Farmers and Fishermen are tough, hard-working and friendly. This also applies to the countryside: the simple and clean villages and the little towns, but especially to the Gozitans
themselves.

The island of Gozo is reached by a passenger and car ferry service that runs between Mgarr Harbour in GozoCirkewwa in Malta and Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. It is a regular service that runs every half
hour during the peak season of the year, hourly in wintertime. Cirkewwa is at the northernmost tip of Malta, and is a mere 40 minutes drive from Malta’s International airport.
